An exploration of how gesso, a canvas primer, can conserve fresh produce. This project began in 2022 with a lime from a party and an attempt to preserve both the lime and the memories of that night. Since then, many fruits and veg have been added to this collection. What started out as a sculptural project has since been used in print alongside moldy and decaying failed attempts in this book. Pictures below are a broccoli stem, strawberry, pear, spinach leaves & squash.
